Kai's horrible habit of getting lost had struck again. Even touring the crowded streets of the market, she had managed to lose her way and had absolutely no idea where she was or where she was supposed to be. Well techniqually she didn't have to be anywhere, but she'd definetely prefer to know where she was going to sleep that night. Aparently, as it appeared, she was going to be sleeping on the streets.
Kai sighed heavily as she once again scanned the streets, straining her eyes for anything familiar and coming up blank. Plonking herself down on the ground, she folded her arms moodily. "Well this is just perfect."

Max threw open her window to the streets below. The scents of mold and smoke had just about brought her to the brink of insanity; that, or pneumonia. But as she looked down yonder, she smelled nothing but pollution. It was about as equally filthy outside as it was in. But, nonetheless, she left it open to at least have a change of scenery. The walls of her small dank room were practically grey; she guessed they were originally white. The roof was dotted with moist spots and the carpet was just as bad. Semi-clean sheets blanketed the single bed and there was only one window, one that was occupied by Max. Her amber eyes raked the streets for anything of interest. Zip; nada; zero Nothing but the regular commotion. Except, one person caught her eye, a girl, head swiveling this way and that as if she had no clue where to go. Well, it was better than nothing. Max readjusted the hilt of her sword and walked down the stairs and into the streets. Today she wore a decent pair of black pants and a white, long shirt. She spotted the girl and hustled over without hesitation. "Lost my friend?" She asked quizzically.

"As usual." Kai muttered, not realising that it was actually someone talking to her and not a strange voice in her head. Once her brain had caught up and she realised that there was actually someone there talking to her, she spun to the side and stared at the girl, her hand already inching instinctivly to the bow strapped on her back. "Who are you?" Her voice was wary, years of travelling meant that she had never become close to anyone or developed any friends, so it was only natural for her to be wary around strangers.

My hand reached insinctly to my hilt and I immediately scolded myself. This person was probably just spooked. Join the club... Nonetheless Max stuck out her hand slowly as she might do with a dog, but it was more for a shake than a sniffing. Then again you never really knew did you? "I'm Max, a knight." She clarified nicely. It might have seemed odd for a regular person to carry around a longsword. "May I ask your name?" Her tone was ligh and feathery. Whether she turned was up to the stranger.

Kai smiled, at least it seemed like this girl had manners. That was something. Taking her hand gently, she shook it once before letting go, truth be told she was never really one for shaking hands, but for this girl she could make an exception. She introduced herself as Max. Max huh? Nice name. Kai, a traveller. It's nice to meet you Max." Wow, she was in a good modd today.

Max nodded, letting her hand drop back down beside her. Her head inclined slightly, looking back to see that small window that she had occupied not five moments ago. "So Kai, being lost does seem to out you in a jam. I would be happy to oblige of course. She inquired, her body tilting forward slightly. Max's hair was down all the way to her midrift, she hadn't had the time, nor the patience to put it up in it's usual comfy braid strap. Kai seemed like foreigner and the name fit too. Max's eyes traveled down Kai's body, looking her over to get a good measure of what she was worth. Black hair, a regular attire. "You surely have some destination, correct?" she asked thoughtfully.
